LINKING LOOPS
LIBRARY 2021
The Library of Linking Loops aims to create a continuity of learning between Practical knowledge, from the workshop and tool library, with the Academic knowledge of the book and digital media library. Claiming the corner of Queen St and Davies Avenue, the library filters people in from around the city up the civic steps into the first-floor bridge. Once inside, you will find three cores: a library, a workshop and a courtyard. Each core is encircled and connected by overlapping loops of circulation. The two buildings are further linked on the exterior through key datum lines to complete the idea that although Practical knowledge and Academic knowledge are often separated, they are intrinsically linked.
